The Bishop
The Bishop of Kythera Seraphim (Stergioulis) was born in 1950 in Vragiana village of the prefecture of Karditsa. He graduated from the department of theological studies of the Thessaloniki Aristotelian University and won a scholarship for master studies in the department of Systematic Theology. In 1971 he was ordained as Deacon and in 1981 as a presbyter archimandrite. He served as a homilist in the Holy Diocese of Spetses and Aegina. In 1981he left to Athos to assemble works of 110 Holy Fathers of the Church, mainly of the “Niptikoi Pateres”. He publised a three – book Anthology. Since 1991 till now, he is responsible for the publications of the Encolpion Calendars in the Holy Diocese of Hydra. He was elected as a Bishop on July the 2th of 2005.
